The gemstone Agate has a banded look. This is due to the deposition of layers of other substances.

Agate comes in many colours including white, blue, brown, grey, red, rose, green and yellow.

Agate is thought to provide good luck and protection. The gem Agate is excellent for harmonising and rebalancing the mind, body and spirit. It can be used to cleanse the aura and energy field.
